Which may leave you wondering...what is Animal Flow?
What is Animal Flow?
Animal Flow® is ground based movement, made fun, challenging and effective. This system is designed to improve strength, power, flexibility, mobility, and coordination for all levels of fitness enthusiasts. Whether you want to workout on your own, train with a professional, or take part in group classes, Animal Flow has something for every body!
The Six Components
Animal Flow includes a range of movements and combinations that are grouped into categories we call the “Six Components.” Each Component is designed to elicit specific results. The Six Components can be mixed and matched in many ways, allowing you to incorporate one, some, or all of them in your workouts.
These include:
Wrist Mobilisations
Wrist mobilizations are simple yet effective movements that prime the hands and wrists for the challenges of Animal Flow. They’re vital for both beginners and pros, making them our first step in the six components.
Travelling Forms
Traveling Forms are animal-inspired movements designed to enhance the function of the “human animal”. Animal locomotion offers unique opportunities to enhance coordination, strength and cardiovascular conditioning.
Activations
Activations are progressively challenging isometric holds that are used to awaken the body and encourage it to communicate more effectively. These activations are unique to QMT and are perfect preparation for any type of workout.
Switches and Transitions
Switches and Transitions (S&Ts) are the heart of the Flow in Animal Flow. These dynamic movements can be seamlessly linked to create countless combinations or used independently as effective exercises or drills.
Form Specific Stretches
Form Specific Stretches are full body mobilizations that start from one of our four base positions and dynamically move through various ranges of motion. The aim of FSSs is to promote a balance of flexibility and stability (ie, mobility) across the body’s joints.
Flows
Flows are dynamic sequences that integrate various AF movements to create a fluid and continuous practice. They consist of Switches & Transitions, Form Specific Stretches and Traveling Forms, blended together to form infinite combinations.
